John West Park

August 7, 2016 By Becca Leave a Comment

I’m so excited to finally get to share this park with you! It’s one of our favorites when we are at the beach. We aren’t the type of people that goes to the beach for hours and hours every day while on vacation. Anytime we go on a beach trip, I am always looking for other things to do because we typically get our beach time done very early in the morning before it gets too hot and then we need to occupy the boys for the rest of the day.

John West Park is located in Ocean View, DE which is about 10 minutes from Bethany Beach. It is FULL of modern playground equipment, and they’ve even added more since we had been there last time. Tons of amenities like clean bathrooms, a walking path, water fountains, picnic tables, swing benches for the parents and MORE are why I love this place so much. This is a top 5 playground for me, and I am hard to please since we’ve been to so many.

The boys love getting to do different types of things here since it’s not the same boring equipment that every other place has. D conquered the bouncy balance beam on this most recent trip which he was afraid to do alone initially. I love seeing him blossom and become more independent (but not TOO independent!!) simply by getting to try new activities.

What kind of mental picture do you get when you think of Philadelphia? Big cities are such a juxtaposition between beauty and filth in my personal opinion. Everywhere you look there are piles of trash, graffiti, and dilapidated buildings. Philly has more than its' fair share of those things BUT it … [Read More...]
