We decided to mix things up for this adventure. Hubby took over my camera for the first time and I got to be in a picture or two… although almost all of them are of my butt since he was lagging behind us while he focused hard on the task at hand. There are SO many great little parks in the Baltimore suburbs that it’s hard to pick which ones to go to first. Stansbury Park made the list on our recent weekend in Baltimore as it fit all my adventure requirements. In case you forgot, they are:
- Loop Trail
- Water
- Playground(s)
There was such a great community vibe at this park. Located in a middle class area southeast of the city, it was teeming with activity. A group of guys playing softball, people fishing, people walking the trail, and kids on the playgrounds. Everyone was friendly and the park felt super safe.
We met another family while playing that had a baby boy whose name was also Oliver! We had fun on both playgrounds but the photographer only got a picture of this one. There were public restrooms but they weren’t open. I’m guessing they may be during the warmer months. There was a porta potty for emergencies at least.
The loop around the lake was paved which made for easy strolling. One of the reasons I picked this park is because it butts up against a marina, providing double water feature enjoyment. As much as our kids love going on hikes through the woods, they love a good playground so I do try to balance out our adventures to have a little of both. This park fit the bill!
