Little Creek Wildlife Area- David S. Small Trail

May 19, 2017 By Becca Leave a Comment

If you’re heading up or down Route 9 East of Dover and have time for a quick adventure, swing in to the Little Creek Wildlife Area. Drive past the residence on the right and say hi to the chickens on your way past. Turn left on to the gravel road and drive along through the woods until you reach the sign for the Davis S. Small Wildlife Trail. Make sure you’ve got your bug spray on and head in to the boardwalk trail.

This quick nature walk will lead you to a wildlife viewing tower that gives you a secluded view of the Delaware bay and the wildlife that call it home.

Make sure you drive slowly take a look at the wetland areas on either side of the road on your way in and out. We saw some gorgeous wood ducks when we were there but of course I didn’t have my camera!
