Battery Park

July 11, 2016 By Becca Leave a Comment

Battery Park is such a great, underused park located in New Castle right on the bay.
We stopped by while out and about and found a great view, fun playground and expansive open areas with a paved walking path. Not to mention, historic New Castle, DE is so beautiful! I can’t believe I had never really been there before to notice all of the old buildings and cool details.

The park is full of mature trees and benches to take a load off and even a beach! Swimming is prohibited, but it could work for some time in the sand with buckets and shovels. If you’re lucky, you might get to see ships cruising by on the water as you walk along the waterside path.

The playground area, like the rest of the park is nice and open with two playsets and plenty of squirrels running around to for the kids to watch. It was a bit wet when we arrived right after a rain storm, so O had a TON of fun splashing in the puddles around the playground rather than actually playing on the equipment. Luckily, restrooms aren’t too far away either because you never know when the 4 year old is going to need to go!

The boys chased a squirrel up the tree!
